Welcome to my website. I am now the only INDEPENDENT candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner in West Yorkshire, a force in which I served for 30 years.

To my trained eye, the common sense has gone out of policing. A culture of target chasing, drive-by policing has wedged a divide between the public and the police. There is a justified public perception that all is not well.

The strength of our community has to be at the heart of the fight against crime. There should be a partnership based on trust and confidence. Policing cannot operate without the consent of the law abiding public.

My vision as your Commissioner is to rebuild the relationship. Mutual respect is vital and constructive. There is a duty upon the Police to uphold the law but there is also a public duty to assist the Police. We are the same community after all.

I am determined to make honesty and integrity a cornerstone of everything I do as PCC I have vast criminal investigation experience. I have tackled and convicted criminals at every level of society. No-one has my favour. I will strive to clean up West Yorkshire Police. There is no compromise in this regard. Your police service cannot be effective if the relatively few who see misconduct and criminality as acceptable are not challenged and brought to account.

Together we can turn this around and restore your confidence. I want to make a difference, improve performance to that of the best in the country.
